I’m Liz Mrofka a nice Czech girl from the suburbs of Chicago. After a visit to Colorado I realized this was where I wanted to call home and made the move to a small farm in Hotchkiss. Besides raising 6 foot tall tomatoes in a greenhouse, keeping up with 7 acres of vegetables, feeding the chickens, turkeys and horses, there was still time to enjoy the beauty of the valley and be surrounded by curious cows as I read books in the pasture.
A life change brought a move to Greeley and an assistant service manager position at Toyota. where I became the first woman in the country to get a Toyota assistant service manager award.
Later I followed my passion for natural healing and became a massage therapist. My focus was on chronic pain and deep tissue work. As rewarding as this work was, it took a toll on my wrists and it became apparent is was time to pursue another passion — design.
I graduated from the Denver Institute of Technology with a degree in graphic design. Besides doing freelance work, I took a position at Interweave Press a craft publisher in Loveland. My work there lasted for many years and encompassed designing numerous books, magazines, marketing materials, websites and interactive publications.
During that time in the mid 2000’s I awoke in the middle of the night with the idea for my now patented gift wrapping product the Fobbie. The Fobbie is a round or square card with a graphic and a greeting that attaches to your package with ribbon. The Fobbie won the best new product award in 2008 at the National Stationary Show. It was there that I was approached by Berwich Offray the largest ribbon and bow manufacturer in the world to license my product. The Fobbie has also appeared on QVC and the Today Show.
Today I love working with small businesses to help them create all the materials they need to promote their business as well as brainstorm ideas for marketing. My experience also includes social media management ranging from designing and implementing Facebook timeline images and campaigns, media buys, creating You Tube channels, Pinterest pages of course a Tweet or two.
